New Manuals Available On Line!

ASI has just completed draft versions of the new User Manual, System Administration Manual, and Designer Reference Manual. The text in the manuals is complete, but some formatting issues remain on some pages. Also, the screen shots are going to be redone. Nonetheless, this is an excellent resource for the latest release of APPX. The manuals are in HTML format, which means it won't use much bandwidth. Ultimately they will also be provided in PDF format to allow you to print your own hard copy (if you want it), as well as in Windows '.chm' file format. You will also be able to download the entire manual to host on your own web server (or local drive), but this ability is not available yet. If you happen to notice any errors or omissions, please let us know.

APPX Release 4.1.6 is here!

APPX 4.1.6 is now available from our download page. Release 4.1.6 is the latest version of APPX's 4.1 series, and contains a number of important corrections and fixes. If you or any of your customers are currently running an earlier version of 4.1, we recommend you upgrade to this release. This is expected to be the last release before the October conference. (Complete release notes are here).

You can run the Demo Application on your own machine once you have installed APPX 4.1.6.

Alternatively, you can run the Demo Application on ASI's Demo Server as follows:

Download (from our download page) and install the latest release of the APPX Client. It is very important that you run the most recent version of the APPX Client software when you run the Demo Application.
Run the client and establish a remote connection with the following parameters:
Run the application. You can also go into Application Design and take a look at how this application was designed. Don't worry about changing anything, you are running your own personal copy of the demo application and demo data. Anything you change is to your copy only and will be removed when you exit the Demo Server.
A Demo Guide, which steps you through the operation of the application, is available here.
