APPX VAR Conference
On October 19 - 22, a conference was held in Jacksonville, Florida for the North American VARs and International Distributors. A lot of information was shared, including technical sessions on how to best use the new features in 4.1, previews of the marketing plan, and more. Click on the link above for a summary of the sessions.
One of the new marketing materials is a Customer Profile, a fact sheet that highlights the use of APPX at a customer site. For a sample, click here. These profiles are all on US based companies, and we're looking for some international customers. If you have a customer that would like to be profiled, please let us know!

On Dec 4 - 8, we are running a training course to show how you can use the new features to make your applications more robust, easier to use and your users happier! There are actually 2 courses that week, 3 days on Application Development, then 2 days on GUI development. If you attend both courses, you will receive a 20% discount on the combined courses. In the Application Development portion we will use Oracle to store our application data, and spend time discussing the advantages/disadvantages of using Oracle, as well as use some techniques to optimise APPX performance under an RDBMS. If you have ever considered moving your APPX data to an RDBMS, this is your chance to see what's involved. The combination of the Application Design and GUI Design courses are an excellent introduction to the new 4.1 features, and are highly recommended!
